WELCOME DIV 5/6/7 EFI
Happy New Year!!!
Welcome back students, we missed you over the break! Parents we hope you all had a wonderful Christmas vacation and enjoyed the time you spent with your families. We are now heading through term 2 and will be steaming right ahead in our courses. The students will continue working through their Electricity unit in Science, which will include some cool experiments, which I am sure will shock them! In English we plan on starting up our Literature Circles. This in essence is a book club in which the students will be reading top novels for their grade level, and doing some writing on each of them. The students have been looking forward to this, and have already be looking over the choice of books they will be reading. In PE we will be focusing on Basketball for the next unit. Although I am very
well versed in every area of our PE program, this is where I have the most expertise, and I look forward to developing the skills amongst my students.
As mentioned during parent teacher interviews, I would like to continue to keep the lines off communication open, so please do not hesitate to call or e-mail me if you have a concern. I know that some have said that my web page is not working, but to access it you need to go to the CDGMS home page and follow the link. Once on my web page you can link directly to my e-mail and this is one of the best ways to contact me. Please also feel free to drop in after school if you need to speak with me. I am however in the midst of coaching Basketball, so please set up a time prior to dropping by.
I hope to have a great time in this new year, and have encouraged all my students to set their goals for the term, and to make improvements where they are needed. I am hoping to add many more names to the academic and effort honour roll this term.
